TOP SECRET: Reflux And Heartburn

peachynowamum by peachynowamum Talking(October 2006) (rank 193rd)

Having recently gone through what seemed like endless restless nights and days with bubs crying and screaming cause she was in agony, always hungry always throwing up or just plain miserable I took her to the hospital.

There I found out she had reflux and as you know this can make them very unsettled but did you know this can cause a little bit of heart burn too. Ouch poor baby! Well now we have found a way to make her into a happy baby again and lucky for you I am willing to share these TOP SECRET.... IDEAS AND ADVICE with you!

  1. Raise one end of the mattress by putting a pillow underneath it.
  2. Feed your baby upright
  3. Hold your baby in an upright position for 15 min- 1/2 hr
  4. Put some Karicare thickener in the formula or in some water/ breast milk (this makes the food slightly heavier so it isn't as likely to come up, it also make them more settled after a feed.)
  5. Its your Choice but sucking on a dummy helps bring up wind

So shhhh.... Keep this secret and I hope it helps you as much as it did me. Also if all else fails see a doctor because they have medicine they can give too....
