Feeding newborns

Anonymous Author (October 2006)
At the hospital, they give you the choice of how to feed them. Either demand feed them which is when they wake up and demand to be fed or you wake your baby up every 4 hours for a feed. I was told this, but they strongly recommended that i, being
a first time mummy, to demand feed her. Let her sleep as long as she wants, and she would wake up when she was hungry. That is what i did, and now she's 3.7 and doesn't eat that much, but when she does, it's a good healthy biggish meal. I do recommend that you demand feed your child, as it's better for both you and your baby in the long run, and you both get some good sleep.

Bit of both...
I started out demand feeding.. But the little tacker was so weak from me starving him (he was having trouble breast feeding) I had to wake him up every two hours to feed... Man that is taxing. But we got over it and went back to demand feeding.. Boy was he demanding.
