Spending quality family time as a family

monyq83 by monyq83 Young Parent(November 2006) (rank 14th)

I thought Id start a post about your favourite way of spending time together as a family. I hope this can help other families out there to think of other ways of having fun with our families.

I love taking the kids and the dog down the park to

run around and play with a ball

Last night I went out and bought the kids a board game. (their first.) it probably wasnt the best choice for their age group as it was a bit too complex for their gross motor skills, but their dad and i had fun lol and the kids loved having a laugh when they couldnt get it. I bought The Simpsons version of Operation. When you touch the sides, Homer shouts at you (Doh! Why are you torturing me?) etc and the kids love it. In the end they just sat there making him shout lol

What's your favourite?

Whac a Mole
bought this for my son and he can play it alone or with up to 3 other people its loads of fun. The mole makes a noise and if its your particular noise you hit the mole on the head. Its so funny

Board games
Im thinking about buying snakes & ladders next for the kids. (do they still make that?) its not too complex for them and im sure they'll enjoy all the ups and downs (pardon the pun lol) of the game.

Board games
I havent gotten us any yet since I dont know which one to choose - but she is only three, puzzles are doing the trick for now.  It would be nice to get something for her birthday I had been thinking though, if anyone can give further ideas maybe I can find something real neat!
Peace

Game night
When my son gets old enough we will be taking one day probably sunday and making that family day and we can do stuff together and I like the boardgame idea.  I will have a blast, but I am not sure about my boyfriend he doesn't like board games as much as I do.

We love to go to the park too! Although we usually have a coffee first. The little one really loves this, especially now that she can sit up at the table in a 'big chair'. She and I have been doing this since she was about 12 months old and it has become our Saturday morning ritual.
