Natural Suggestions for conceiving a boy or a girl

Natural ideas
A very well informed friend of mine who has had 2 IVF babies (at different times..not twins) told me that during all her fertility treatment etc she was told the following.

The sperm
is made 3  months before it is used, during this "storage period" the boy sperm are prone to dieing off pre-ejaculation if they are kept too warm, ie if they were made in summer for example, and undies were worn instead of boxer shorts etc, they may die off a bit.

The boy sperm also swim the fastest, but die the soonest.

Your egg is vable for 72 hours, this is your window of fertilization opportunity.

It is interesting to know, that even perfectly healthy couples, even with a very high or normal sperm count and a healthy prime of life all fine woman can take up to 6 months to conceive at all, let alone the gender of their choice.  Smoking and alcohol consumption, drug abuse and stress can all attribute to a lack of sperm being produced.  The amount of semen produced has no corrilation to how much Sperm it contains.  You have a higher sperm count in the mornings than you do in the evenings.  This has been attributed to heat of sitting, toxins you may come in contact with, smoking, alcohol, and the heat of the day.

To Conceive a GIRL it makes sense that if you have the little dudes  off and racing prior a couple of days or so prior to your actual day of ovulation (you'll want to track it a few months to be sure I guess), they might swim and die before the egg has been dropped into the fallopian tube, but the girls who live a good while longer (I forget exactly how long, but it's like 12 hours or something substatial like that, I'm sure you could google), keep on swimming, and wallah, one of them finds the newly sprung egg and wam bam thank you mam a girl is conceived..............or so I'm told.

If it is a boy you are after have "relations" frequently  (as much as is humanly possible) during your ovulation period, right slap bang on it.

I personally conceived on April 10th 2005 and had a girl on Christmas day.....if it's true about the sperm being made in summer etc, that would be smack on and my hubby is mainly a jeans & jocks wearer even in summer. We had relations only that one time thduring that period of time, which probably helped the girl getting.   (I'm an Aussie, Summer is November through to about March & I live in the desert of Western Australia, we get 40-50 degree celcius summer days as relatively common.)

sperm

Sperm does take about 70 some days from production to maturation. They are constantly made. The sperm in their final stop at the scrotum is kept at an optimal temperature. But while waiting there, they are susceptible to temperatures, drugs, environmental changes, diet, etc. I haven't heard of the "male" sperm dieing off easier than female sperms though.

Sperm can live in the female body for as much as 3-4 days (longer during a woman's fertile period, because the environment is "friendlier" for the sperm).

The female egg is only viable for 24 to 48 hrs - according to different publications I've read.

sperm
I got the male sperm dieing off prior to being "used" from my friend who's gone through the 2 successful IVF treatmets & she tell's me this is what they explained to her whilst she was going through the  hormone taking & egg extractions and her Hubby was gong through his bit (poor man had to flog his log into a cup...big woops............sigh).

Anyway that's what she told me they told her.  I did look up other bits on line to make sure I had hours etc correct.  The mayo Clinic has a very good & easy to understand article on sperm if your interested.

I don't know if I've done that right.

Let me put on my magic knowing hat????
I don't know??????  Do I look like the Kalgoorlie sensis association, Jess you really do think way too highly of me haha.  I know 3 little girls who's birthdays are either in mid June or July, does that help?? Oh, one of those girls was conceived in S.A. so that probably doesn'r count & the others r identicle twins.  Umm, I can't remember anyone elses b'days.  I cared for more girls than boys but children tend to come here rather than be conceived or born here, & I personally likedcaring for girls more than boys because truth be told, a lot of boys in Aust are spoiled little brats who's parents refuse to discipline in the slightest way where as the girls get taught rules and manners etc from the word go.  THAT I have observed.

A lot of Mum's I know seem to put little boys on a pedastal and the are a lot tougher onthe girls.  I don't personally understand it.  My sister in-law is a prime example.  Her youngest of 3 is a boy, and he rules the roost with her, she openly admits to adoring him, she doesn't say "more than the girls" but the girls don't get a mention....so you can get the drift.  My Hubby's Mum was the same with him, he can still do no wrong.  I don't understand it, but it's pretty wide spread in kalgoorlie.
