getting rid of gas when burping doesnt work

proud-mommy by proud-mommy Talking Back(November 2006) (rank 75th)
Now from personal experience this has worked extremely well for me.. We thought that my son was colicy because he was always screaming in pain because he had an EXTREMELY bad gassy tummy.. Well I had talked to the nurse at the health unit, and she told me to cut dairy
right out of my diet.. Now for me that is hard because I literally eat dairy with everything.. But I did, and he's a LOT less gassy... But he does get gassy from time to time. When he has EXTEREMLY bad pains, I give him just a little bit of this stuff,  called Kolic. Its a god sent.. It helps with hiccups, gas, cramps, stomach achs, etc. Well instead of giving him a full dose because I hate having to resort to "medication" I give him about half a dose, and then I take his legs and scrunch them up to his tummy, and then push lightly on his tummy with his legs. so his feet are at his bum, and his knees are up on his tummy.. I do this for about 10 mins... While I am doing this he is farting away getting rid of the gas. It works EVERY time!!! Try it and you'll see it works : )

...bet the prevention is better than the cure though!  Poor Bub.  I am glad you have found what works for him.  I was fortunate to never have this with E.  But will remember in case i ever need it in the future.  Thank you

well Dom is only 5 weeks old.. And iam still trying to figure out what foods i can eat and what i cant eat... I have so far restricted my diet like crazy.. haha.. its nuts.. so... the prevention is kinda hard to do:S Hes got a really sensitive stomach, and for those mothers who have babies like mine, or for any other problems like colic, with gas it would help with that too.. :D
