Body piercing

selly by selly Talking(November 2006) (rank 132nd)

Its a good idea to take out your belly ring when pregnant, i wish i did. My button never "popped." So i thought i would be safe, WRONG!
After having bub the skin underneath the ring started to sag. Now it looks like a big strechmark. So take

it out.

Re: Body piercing

Wow. I didnt know. I was about 4 month pregnant with belly ring. I just took it off coz it doesnt look good then 4 year later I put my belly ring back on and it was still open.  Now, If I'm pregnant, I would take it off straight away.  It was good advice!

Oh, wow, i didn't know that there were flexible ones! I took out my belly ring and nipple rings when I was pregnant cuz they started to hurt. Oh well... i don't have the tummy for a belly ring anymore, LOL

Body piercing
I must be lucky, I didn't take my belly ring out both times I was pregnant, & didn't have any problems. I did have to take out two other rings, while I was breast feeding - & was still able to re-ring the holes a year later....  I seriously didn't think I'd be able to, but like I said.... I must be a lucky one.

link for flexible body bars
I looked into this issue earlier in my pregnancy and wrote a piece of advice keeping a belly button piercing during pregnancy. It contains links to sites about the new flexible bars if people are interested. I am using a pfte bar (quite ugly but flexible). I am currently 33 weeks pregnant. I will update my advice after my pregnancy on its success and let you know if I got any stretch marks using a flexible bar.

Belly ring
If you want to there are preggy belly rings. basically they are a piece of plastic tubinng with balls on each end. Not the most attractive but it saves it if you really wanted to keep it. I took mine out for my second pregnancg only because by the time i realised that it was time to change the ring it was so sore and irritated I just took it out. But if you are interested any peircing ship will have preggy rings. My midwife told me I didnt need to remove it just put the plastic in earlier rather than later.

body piercing

i know some places here in Adelaide that have rubber belly rings which are safe to keep in while pregenat, so i faound out after i had my son and got stretch amrks around my piercing.

I spoke to a lady at the jewler and she assures me they are safe to leave in while pregnant as they will move with your body and bend

belly ring
oh man i had my belly pierced n it never healed, kept getting infected. when i was about 4mths preg with my 1st baby, it got reeeeally infected, n wouldnt stop weeping and was really sore. i couldnt get it out for the life of me so my midwife had to come round to the house n take it out with a pair of pliers. when it finally closed up and healed, the scar went black. it looks sooooo gross lol not a good look.
