White Vinegar

mrsbrown4701 by mrsbrown4701 Talking Back(November 2006) (rank 112th)
white vinegar
can be used as a cheaper alternative for:
  • first aid disinfectant and wound cleaner
  • floor cleaner
  • bathroom and kichen cleaner (brilliant on stainless steel and glass top stoves
  • windows and mirrors cleaner
  • fabric softener (and clothes retain scent from
washing powder) and it stops that gooey build up in your washing machine
  • mix nappy soak powder with a small amout to a paste and spread on tough stains (home made "OxyAction")
  • add to laudry or nappy soak powder as a booster
  • good to cook silverside in too and tastes good on fish and chips as well!

i put a dollop of white vinigar and a spoon of bi carb soda into some hot water in my mop bucket to clean the floors, it does an excelent job better than any commercial products i've used, its also excelent for cleaning the toilet as well

when cleaning the toilet...be careful not to "soak" too long, can actually damage the shiney enamel in your toilet pan!

another use for white vinegar
I forgot...bicarb sprinkled down a clogged drain followed by vinegar acts as a "draino" type product... but alot more enviro friendly!

Also same type of mixture for cleaning pure solid jewelry... not too sure on plated...probably not a good thing.

Mind the fumes... make sure the area is ventilated.

Great Info!!
This would be better suited in the Natural Living group or Household tips Group.
