The Morning Rush

rkcrtbrown by rkcrtbrown Speaking(November 2006) (rank 500+)
Do you ever find yourself rushing to get the kids to school or to appointments? Here are few things that i do to help make our morning run smoothly. I don't know about you but hurrying toddlers along generally makes them move slower. I have three toddlers to get ready in
the morning. i find what works best is to prepare for the day the night before.

Preparation the Night Before:

1. Putting my kids clothes out the night before.

2. My daughter's knapsack is prepared. (I put her drink and snack in the morning)

3. Diaper bag is ready in case i am taking the twins out in the morning. (saves me from coming back to the house after I drop my daughter off at preschool.)

4. i put out dishes, cups, and utensils ready on the table.

5. Coffee maker is filled and set to go in the morning.

6. Most importantly, set the alarm because if you don't get up when it goes off, you'll be rushing to get everyone ready.

*I get myself ready before the crew gets up. This helps because i have time for myself before they get up.
I have time to clean up, get them dressed and washed before we go out the door.
I always give myself a little extra time because we all know toddlers can also be unpredictable and the unforseen can arise.

Basically, whatever i have ready the night before, is one less thing i have to do in the morning.

Great ideas!
It does make things so much easier in the morning if you are able to do some of the necessary things the night before.  It also seems to take some of the stress out of the situation if you have an opportunity to reduce your workload in the morning.

Being prepared.
I have a 3 year old, and she goes to kindy 4 day's a week, and i get everything prepared the night before also. It's a great idea isn't it? You are more prepared in the mornings and don't have to worry about a few things.

So true
I have found that If I get myself ready before the kids get up, our mornings tend to run more smoothly. I only have to get up about half an hour earlier but it makes for a much more relaxed morning.
