decorating kids room

violeta by violeta Talking Back(November 2006) (rank 71st)
When we bought our house I wanted to buy things to decorate my sons room, I went to the shops and saw that the paper border that goes on the wall was from 22 and up. The once that my son likes would have costed me $150 at least  for
4. So as I was thinking of what I can use I came up with a cheap solution. I got some (I think its called contact paper) the one that you buy to wrap up school books, it cames in clear or with pictures. I got all his favorite characters like buzz, nemo, spunge bob, harry potter (ok ok harry potter is my fav) fantastic 4, supermen, spiderman, batmen and many others and the great thing is they were all 15cents or so each (for a roll of 1.5 m). so what I do is cut all the pictures off and stick them on the walls, robes, and doors. If the come off it is as easy as sticking another one on. from one roll you will get at least 100 stickers. and you can also use them for other things like craft.

taking the stickers off
removing them is no problem they easily come of as the glue is not that strong I have tryed on many services and no problem just pill them off and that is it. they even come off in one piece.

taking the stickers off
That is good to hear. I must have memories of 'old' contact that was very hard to remove.

How easy is it to get off when they outgrow it?
I would be a little concerned about how easy it is to remove later when they out grow it. Have you tried a test patch? That glue may haunt you when you try to update the room later.

Decorating
This sounds fantastic, such an inexpensive yet practical idea. I just might have to do this for my boys room

decorating kids rooms
I think I will try this in the toyroom, inexpensive way to decorate and easy to change the pictures as the kids change their ideas on what they like! Great idea, thanx
