settling bubs

peachynowamum by peachynowamum Talking(November 2006) (rank 290th)
Babies can but not always become unsettled and upset realy easily. I believe this is because they cant not out right tell you what is wrong so here is a list of a few things that I have found to work if your baby has already been fed and had their nappy changed and been burped and is still not settling.

Try some boiled water

give your baby something to suck on (I know a lot of you may not like the  idea of giving your baby a pacifier but I found that sucking helps bring up the wind)

Push baby around in the pram for a while or take them for a drive in the car (often times the movement puts them to sleep)

Give them a bath (lots of babies love the water and will often settle during or just after a bath)

Try resting them against your chest and gently patting them or stoke their head or run your finger gently down their nose starting from between the eyes.

Give them to somebody else to settle expecialy if your a breast feeding mother ( often times mum smell just too good and all bubs can think of even though they arnt realy hungry oooh yummy treat... and they get upset cause they cant get to it.. Also giving them to someone else also helps because often times that person is not stressed whereas you are an dpoor bubs is picking up on that!)

And finaly if all else fails dont be emabarrassed to see your doctor as their could be something wrong

I hope this helps all you new mothers out there ! i just wish I knew all this stuff when I  first had my  daughter 3 months ago.. oh well its all about trial and error I suppose.

baby on my chest

I also love resting my baby on my chest.

Wouldn't it be so much easier if they came with a manual to tell you what was wrong and how to fix it?
