invoice/receipt

violeta by violeta Talking Back(November 2006) (rank 71st)
After few bed experiences I decided to keep all my receipts. What I do is when I come home from shoping I put all receipts in a box (not the food once but for things like clothes, kitchen, electronics). Once I got a top for my son I washed it as
instructed and came off looking 10 years old lucky I had tehe receipt and they gave me my money back. Last week my son turned the light in his room on and the whole thing exploded (elecricity was fine) so it was the light that was wrong, I got the receipt got my money back and a new (different kind this time light). DVD that was blank. Flowers from k-mart failed to grow took it back got my money back. and there are few more. No one can say god knows when you got it or soory only store credit as I have a proof. why should we be stuck with something that does not meet our expectations, but sometimes you have to as you dont have a proof. also I keep original box ans use it for storage and if something goes wrong I have that as well as some will only take it back in the original box.

receipts

It is absolutely good to save receipts for the reasons you've mentioned. Especially for purchases bigger than a few dollars. You just never know what will happen.

I suggest keeping receipts by months, get a small accordion folder and label the slots by month. THen you can just shove the receipts in there. And if you happen to need to dig through it and be able to narrow down the month of your purchase, you'll have to go through less receipts.

receipt
sometimes the things that are not electrical can stuff you up big time and it all comes down to us having to replase them when it is nor really our falt but it is as easy as taking them back and geting our money back. say if I didnt do that I would have thrown about $2000 in a year. you would not think that I dvd is blenk or a bra falling apart 2 days after I got it.

I have taken a few things back recently.
We have had a few things we have had to take back recently because they broke within a short time after purchase. With electrical goods I try to staple the receipt to the manual and put all the manuals together in a file.
