Hi guys, here is yet another toy which is educational that i am completely satisfied with.
COUNTING CATERPILLAR
MAKE: LEAPFROG
PRICE: between $30 - $40 AU dollars (could have lowered in price by now)
I bought this toy a year and a half ago originally to
get Koen to sleep. It is easily mounted to the cot or pram. The caterpillars body has five numbers embroided onto it, over the top of five colours (blue, orange, yellow, purple and red.) Underneath these colours there are five things attatched to the underbody, a bird that squeaks when you squeeze it, two little butterflies with beads inside, 3 bumblebees that have a material inside that makes noises when its scrunched, a ring with 4 flowers attatched and 5 ladybirds with a bell inside.
THIS CATERPILLAR HAS 4 FUNCTIONS:
NUMBERS: Baby or you press the desired number and caterpillar sings a song:
- one little birdy singing so sweet, one fluffy cloud and one big tweet, ONE!
- two little butterfies love to fly, two little butterflies fluttering by, ONE, TWO!
- three little bumblebees full of fuzz, three little bumblebees buzz, buzz, buzz, ONE, TWO, THREE!
- four little flowers blowing in the breeze, four little flowers pretty as can be, ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR!
- five little ladybirds meet for lunch, five little ladybirds munch and crunch, ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR FIVE!
COLOURS: caterpillar sings colour songs about the the objects that were sung about with numbers
(i wont write all of it out coz its just too long!)
CLASSICAL MUSIC: Press each number and the caterpillar tells you the name of a musician then plays a sample of their music eg. MOZART, BACH, VIVALDI, BEATHOVEN <- really not too sure about the spelling.
AND MUSICAL MEDLEY: Press any of the numbers on the catterpillar and it starts playing all 5 of the classical music samples then repeating itself one more time. This was the best part of all because the classical music helps newborns get to sleep.
The caterpillar has two volumes so you can turn it down at bedtime, up at playtime.
This is a great toy for comfort, education and fun. (also i have had it for over a year and still havent changed the batteries in it yet, its still working!)
