Old school phone versus Mobile phone toys

Anonymous Author (December 2006)

HI guys

do you remember as a kid, we used to play with the phone where the reciever is attatched to the actual phone?

Now days, its just all Mobile phones! My son has an ELMO mobile phone which is just adorable. It sings and makes different noises

when you press the buttons.

He also has an "old school" phone. with the round dialer, the reciever with its coiled rope. It winds up, and when you press the button, or wind the dialer, it "BRIIINGSS" just like the original phones.

After many hours of play, He gets just as much enjoyment out of BOTH phones, rather then just one or the other.

He loves the elmo mobile when he see's me or his daddy on our mobiles.

Also, he just LOVES the older phone because of the different sounds.

So if you get the chance to give your child one of each, i suggest you do it! its not only lots of fun, both types are VERY educational, and great to encourage pretend play!

Thats Funny
That is so funny. I gave my daughter an old ring turn dile phone to play with and she didnt know what to do with it! But at the same time she is soooo phone sassy, no even 2 yrs old but firstly she knows the difference between and fake and a real. My friend gave her his old mobile phone, she didnt want a bar or it. AND on my phone she downloaded $30 of ring tones last month. She could have at least saved them! I had nothing to show for all that wasted money, and customer service just dont buy " it wasnt me it was my daughter". You gotta watch these techno savy kids these days. We think we are running circles around our parents right now, you just wait. OUr kids will be doing it to us too before we know it.

Go Mobile phone companies.....
Lets all vote with our mobiles so we can pay a even higher bill....
Least we all know where our family is

I love leaving my mobile home for a day.....

We have both too
We have a real old fashioned phone that both my kids love playing with. It is so heavy compared to al the modern day gadgets. They also had a good plastic toy mobile phone but they rarely play with that now.

We have both too
We have both and she also uses other things - anything as a phone - remote controls, books, utensils (toy ones), hairbrush - u name it it is adaptable in her imagination.  The best is when Mum and Dad comes and one invariably gets a call from workplace, she just pretends she is on the other end and she chatters away to them also....
Peace

old school phones vs. mobile...

just letting parents know, 'please do not buy the cheapy fake mobiles' my son pulled it apart and i got to him before he swallowed the small parts.

go for well known brands eg. fisher price. small price to pay, to avoid your child choking

old school phones vs. mobile...
good point channy! The Elmo phone here only cost me $15. its a bit more to pay, but worth it when you consider the choking hazard!
