Hi,
I have three children ages 13, 11 and 8 yrs old. Ive been on my own pretty much since my oldest was 6mths old and the father of the two youngest was only around long enough to get me pregnant, findout i was and leave again. My second
child has aspergers syndrome (for those of you who dont know its on the autism spectrum) life has never been a bed of roses for us, but we always make do. Its funny i go out and people tell me i dont look old enough to have a thirteen year old, when i tell them im 35 andthat one of my children has aspergers they nearly fall over and say things like "oh my, how do you stay so calm if it was me id be a mess" well the answer is simple my friends, no matter what life throws at you, smile, things could be worse for you and there is always someone in a position less fortunate than your own. I love my kids and laugh with them everyday, when they do something silly i laugh with them. whether someone is single or in a relationship the most important thing in life is to remember,
you are never alone, even though at times it feels like it.
its ok to cry, after all crying is a human reaction to pain of any description
its ok to say i cant cope or i cant do this today
its ok to make mistakes, so long as you learn from them, after all to err is human
its ok to say no to someone who wants you to drop everything because they need something right now, y ours and your family's needs always come first.
and friends, always remember, do something once in a while for you, it may be something as simple as a bubble bath before bed, or buying yourself a chocolate once a week, but doing something for yourself once in a while is always helpful in keeping you sane.
i hope in some way this little piece has helped or will help you or someone you know.
until next time
