Trying to lose weight? I lost 28kgs and kept if off!!!

Anonymous Author (December 2006)

When I had my first son I put on 28kgs, you know the common excuse "i'm eating for two"!!! Yes, I used that one many times. I guess the whole pregnancy thing was new to me and I just wanted to do everything that i thought was right.

After my son was born the doctor had to weigh me, so I hopped on the scales and was absolutely shocked, I was 83kg which I was only 55kgs prior to the pregnancy. Mind you the 83kgs was the weight i was even after my son was born so I couldn't try and calculate how much of that 83kgs was him, the fluid, the placenta, etc, etc...

I cried after the doctor had left, I was so mad at myself for getting so big. I think a bit of it was post-natal depression so it made it ten times worse.

I was really determined to lose the weight so I started walking, went to erobics twice a week and joined my local Easy Slim club where I would weigh in and get some great advice about what to eat finished by 20 minutes of gentle erobic exercises. Everyone was absolutely suprised with how much weight I lost, plus I was so thrilled with the new me. I felt a lot more confident about myself and felt a lot healthier as well.

With the next two pregnancies with my 3 yr old son and with my 21 month old twins, I really never gained very much weight. I think I had learnt from my mistakes and ate healthier for baby and me... After 9 years I am still slim, I now weigh 52kgs and am very happy with my weight.

I hope my story inspires other mums, and just remember to never give up on yourself!

Robyn
