Easy Toddler Meals

franni by franni Standing(December 2006) (rank 290th)
I have found it really hard to find easy toddler meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. so i decided to do some research and i found a
few really good ideas, that i would like to share with you.

BREAKFAST
for breakfast i couldnt think of anythink
beside vegimite on toast, because she didnt like baby cereal or weatbixs.
here are some ideas.

rather then pouring out a bowl of cereal, serve buttered slices of fruit bread and a mixture of sliced fresh fruit such as
kiwi,apple,pear,melon,strawberry. its delicious..

French Toast.
My Daughter loves this recipee she cant get enougth of it.

Beat a egg with a little milk,
cut a thick slice of white bread into squares and dip into the egg.
Cook in a frying pan non stick is the best.
brushed with a little oil or melted butter,
until golden on both sides....
and serve

pikelets are a good idea to have for breakfast as well and there also easy to make.

LUNCH TIME
Last time i gave my daughter sausage rolls for lunch the next day she had bad breath so i dont give them to her anymore, id
rather make them myself.

my favourite lunch time meal is Fruit Kebabs with honey and yoghurt.
it take about 15 mins to make, and its well worth it.
you need
8.Strawberries (hulled)
1. Bananas  (chopped)
1. Kiwi fruit (peeled and chopped)
Half a small pineapple, (peeled and chopped)
Half a rockmelon, (seeded and chopped)
200g nautural yoghurt
2 tablespoons of honey

thread pieces of fruit onto paddlepop sticks
blend together the yoghurt and honey and serve as a dipping sauce.
very yummy and easy. you dont even have to use the dipping sauce.

i aslo like to make her some vegi puff which are very yummy and healthy as well.

DINNER TIME
this is called the toddler combo its easy to make
1 potato peeled and chopped
1carrot, grated and chopped
1 zucchini, chopped
half cup of chopped sweet potatoes
1/4 cup chopped green beans
half cup chopped cooked meat.

all you have to do is
cook up your meat and steam, boil or microwave your vegies until tender.
and mix with meat and serve.

my daughter love mashed potatos so anythink that has potato in it she will eat like shepherds pies.

easy toddler meals

Lucky grub is a good eater. Loves weetbix.....but also loves things like scrambled eggs, baked beans and toast etc.

lunch loves this...fruit bread with honey, ricotta and pears as filling.

He would never, ever eat any of those store brought baby food...and after tasting one...I can't blame him....

A really good website for recipes is www.recipezaar.com

They have a baby and toddler section

Good Ideas
It can be hard to think of ways to serve toddlers a healthy balanced diet every day without being too repetitive - I especially like the fruit kebabs idea!

Great summer menu
These sound so light and perfect.  Some great ideas that I will start implementing as well. We love variety in our home.
