When to report advice - a link to the criteria |

I agree that it is not always easy to know when to report advice.
Recently I have seen many pieces of advice reported that did not meet the criteria for report. However the criteria for reporting advice is not easy to find. I knew it was on the site

and accessed it just a few days ago. However it still took me over 20 minutes to find it just now to post a link in a comment in the reported advice section.
When should I use the report link
I really feel that the above information needs to be placed more prominently on the site hence my reason for posting this piece of advice. I knew it was there and still had to spend ages looking for it.
If you find a piece of advice that doesn't really belong in advice but does not meet the criteria for reporting you have the option of leaving a comment on the advice (or you could send the member an email) letting them know that it would be better placed in Q&A or their blog and that poorly scoring articles affect their ranking so they may want to delete their own article after they have moved the information to a more appropriate place.
Did you know that at this stage a member is not informed that their article has been reported or why unless it is reported by the automatic checking system that picks up potentially rude words. If you do report an article it may be a nice idea to let the member know why their article has been reported via Minti mail. Minti is a work in progress and I know the administrators are working hard to improve this and other parts of Minti.
Only members above level 5 have access to the reported articles section to vote and read comments on reported articles so for new members their advice just disappears and they don't know why unless someone Minti-mails them.
Some of you may feel that this belongs in my blog. That's fine, if so please feel free to vote this down or not vote on it at all.
I have posted this here because I have noticed many members getting upset recently about about advice being reported for the wrong reasons and know that more people will read this here than on my blog.
I really don't mind how you vote on this article but please read this link before you consider reporting it
When should I use the report link
I really enjoy Minti and want it to be a positive experience for all.
