Don't be afraid

I'm writing to those people out there who are stuck in abusive relationships.

I have recently escaped an abusive and violent relationship and I know what it is like and I know what thoughts run through your head constantly.

If you think that you can't leave because you

love them take a step back and think that if they truly loved you they wouldn't treat you badly.

Every time you accept the pitiful apology they give you are basically telling them "Its ok you can abuse me and assault me I give you permission"

Don't let them torture you any more, there are many places that can help.

If you need help and support I will help you as much as I can.

You can escape it and move on, You just have to try.

Don't be afraid

i too have just come out of an abusive relationship and these two books are really helping me to get my head sorted out again. I keep asking Why He Did it and can't move away from that but these books are really helping. The first One is "Why Charming Men Make Dangerous Lovers" written by Sandra Horley and also "Why Does He Do that- Inside the minds of Angry and Controlling Men" by Lundy Bancroft. Both were recommended to me by my Domestic Violence Counsellor and they really helped me.

My sis was in a abusive relationship and it took me years to convince her to leave.

i know what you mean

but my man keeps telling me he loves me. i've threatened with the police before, and it's slowly sinking in. He's got a bit of a history so the police will drag it up and won't see his daughter again, so he's getting better with his anger.

being afraid no more

myself being a bloke cant stand abusive males both physical and mental abuse. i have tried to help some lady's in the past that have been abused by their partners and i have failed as they didnt want to be helped because of the fear of payback on them and the children.

good to see you have taken a stand
