A Quick Tip for Nightmare Nappies

hrs2004 by hrs2004 Young Parent(May 2006) (rank 20th)

If your little cherub has managed to produce a nightmare nappy, with poo seeping out from the sides and over surrounding clothing, you may have them dressed in a vest / bodysuit that now has to come over their head and face (yuck).  The way to end up with a

child that only needs a new nappy, vest and a quick wipe down rather than a full bath and hair wash is to ROLL the affected bit of the vest into itself so that only the clean bits are in contact with the skin on removal. Sadly, it took a friend to teach me this. I will not post any photos from earlier experiences!

done that

Yes, I've learned to do this myself when Matthew was around 3 months. He had poop everywhere that I had to hold him still for a few second to figure out how to get his clothes off without making any more mess. But like katiepiatt said, sometimes things are beyond help that we do have to get into the bath.

euuugghhhh...

Been there, done that. Although when there's poo everywhere, you can almost guarantee that a small foot or hand will manage to get in there somewhere.

We rate nappies on a scale of "wipes". A wee, or small pooo is a "one wipe" nappy, you can probably work out the rest of the scale, but by the time you get to a five or six wipe nappy then you know it's a scary business...

yep - we do this
Yes - my wife showed me this trick too
I actually had to do this today so it is very fresh in my mind!
Codi had a "poo accident" today and his shirt got dirty. We had him wondering about with no nappy on so he could enjoy himself... last time we will do that and let him play on the carpet... I think from now on nappy free time is on the tiled floor only

By the way: Glad you didn't include photo's!
