Deborahsc2203 by Deborahsc2203 Talking Back(December 2006) (rank 363rd)

Hi people I know that ive done alot of venting on this site thats helped me to let things out instead of it been bottled up.

but i also dont want to be a sad case , i think in bad times also we have to remember what we

should be thankful for that also helps me alot after i vent.

I have doubble scoliosis , But to turn that into good Im thankkful that i can walk etc,,,

I have lost a child ,But i also can be thankful that i have 3 healthy boys and I am able to have children.

inlaws didnt invite me to xmas . but im able to wake up in a cosy bed too see the day even have a bed to sleep in etc,,and have one great friend in my life ,and i asked santa for a sunny day and i got it yippieeeee thats the best present ,

alone at times. but at least im not lost out in the bush trying to fight to survive and catch my dinner.

ok hopefully we can get the ball rolling on this page things we love and things to be thankful for ....xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What a great Idea

Great attitude

I have a stack of things to be thankful & grateful for...where do I start !

Even when I have the blues...I always remember, there are people in worse situations.

OK...I'm thankful to have a partner who has shared all of life's ups and downs with me

( believe me....after 24 yrs together....we have had our fair share of what life throws our way.)

I'm thankful to have 2 healthy children

( who do drive me up the wall..lol )

I'm thankful too for my minti family

( who are always there for me )

I'm thankful to have the bills paid every week ...and a roof over our heads.

( sure..lots of times my family has managed to "live on love " who needs food everyday )

That will do for now...but the list can just go on and on and on...lol

Life is precious

You're right! We should all focus on what we have during the challenging times, not what we don't have. Life is so precious, every experience should be valued for the lessons learned out of it. I know sometimes I'll be having a stressful day, where really I just need to stop and take a deep breath, and look around at what I have. Playing with my little girl and looking into her eyes is enough to put things into perspective a lot of time!

To my Sister and Friend

This comes under something to be thankful for.

We live in a world that moves at a fast pace,

Life is hectic, busy and we often forget about the ‘ little’ things in life.

We forget to slow down or even stop for a moment to reassess our surrounds, to take stock of our lives.

And all too often we take for granted the people who come in and out of our lives.

Take time to say ‘thank you’

Take time to smile,

Never underestimate the power of a gentle touch, softly spoken word and a smile.

To my Sister, this is for you.

To you all I send this from my heart to yours.

From One Sister to Another

Hi,

Thank you for being my Sister,

Thank you for accepting me with all my faults, my extra kilos, my thick glasses, my walking frame, my wheel chair.

Thanks for not freaking out about all the tubes that stick out from my body,

Thank you for being proud of me when I published my first book – thank you even more for buying a copy!

Thank you for not laughing at me But with me – hey have I ever told you laugh like a witch?

Even though we have spent half our lives apart from each other- I thank you for always being in my heart.

Thank you for loving my daughter so much that she thinks of you as her ‘other mum’.

Thank you for being a pain in the ass little sister-(just kidding, wanted to see if you were really reading this!)

Thank you for the way you yell and scream – well someone in the family has to do it.

Thank you for being a great mum.

Thank you for being someone I admire and look up to even though I am the ‘big sister’.

AND MOST OF ALL.

Thank you for being my Sister, I wouldn’t trade you in for anyone else!

Don’t ever change.

I LOVE YOU SIS!

PS HAPPY BIRTHDAY you old bat!

Great attitude!

You have a great attitude. It's better for us to spend minimal amount of time thinking of negative things. To dwell on bad things mean you're not as open to seeing the good things. Who wants to be preoccupied by bad/sad stuff and miss out on the great things we're blessed with.

Better out than in

As my Grandad George  to say:

"Better out than in because it doesnt pay the rent"

OK.  So he was talking about passing gas.  But it applies to many other things also.  Including emotions.  Great piece of advice.  Thank you
Peace

Hear hear
I've done the old poor me to this year, sitting around on Christmas night my niece gets the news that one of her friends was killed in a car accident, a family now without their son, my niece without her friend, what do I really have to complain about!!  Be thankful everyday even if you think nothing is going right just be thankful for what you have... Great advice, good reminder to all
