Water Safety

bellachell by bellachell Talking Back(January 2007) (rank 77th)

The following are helpful hints for when your child is in the water.

Always keep an eye on your child\ren whenever they are in or near the water.Drownings can occur in seconds even in a couple of inches of water.

Empty wading pools as soon as they are no longer in use.

Whenever in a boat have your child wearing a life jacket or some other kind of floating device.

Hold on to your younger baby at all times when in the water

Do not allow running near the water.

Keep all pool cleaning equipment locked up and out of sight.

Keep a phone near the water in case of emergencies.

Summer is the time of year when a lot of people take their children to the beach etc, but accidents in the water can happen any time any place. Even at home in the bath. With this in mind I urge all parents to do a CPR course so that if (god forbid) anything like this does ever happen, you will know what to do.

Thanks for reading.

Good advice
I was also aware and am vigilant around the water it is suprising how many kids drown each year. I have done CPR lessons and i think they should be mandatory when you have your baby in a hospital. Babies don't come with manuals(we're not sure the first time)but CPR lessons will stay in your mind for a long time to come, and this is something you can definatly know
