parents seperating

wertynt by wertynt Speaking(January 2007) (rank 500+)
i have been seperated from my childrens father for almost 4 years now, they have adjusted very well and were really settled.  my older sister has just had her relationship break up, her children have taken it pretty hard as they are older and understand more.  but the worst
for me is that my eldest has reacted very oddly.  she is now wanting more attention, and is wanting her relationship with her father to be the same as her cousins, this is hard as her father and i are friendly, whereas my sister and her ex arent.  i would never have thought in a million years that my sisters seperation would affect my own children, but i was dead wrong.  i am writing this as i hope it will help others to understand that it is not only the parents and their children who have seperated that these things affect and we all should remember that all relatives are also affected, especially the little ones.

So true
Like you say because people handle one situation one way they will handle another similar situation differently, different perspective and life experience on each occasion.  Sounds like you have learnt from this.  A hard but valuable lesson that we really need to learn more often than we care to.
Thank you for sharing this
Peace
