A Helping Hand

trixie30 by trixie30 Talking(January 2007) (rank 146th)
I find that once you have a baby as a mother you are alone as usually fathers are away at work your friends that you have are at work and also your family and it seems that you are locked away from life.I found  trying to come  back you
loose your self confidence and i found attending playgroups or any other source is very testing as i found that the mothers whom been there for long while are clingy to one another and you feel more alone as they usually run a mile. But the reason why i am writing this is that things i can suggest in meeting friends and getting the helping hand needed hope this will help someone out there.

I found what helps is chatting on a site like MInti as you find alot of nice and interesting people
Have a look at your life and see when you can have your time and do the things on what you like to
Ask for help when you need it as noone is fully insane
Have a cry if needed but always learn to laugh loud and smile
Look at your kids and spend time with your kids as there are only little once

There are are alot of help out there

Mental health
Health nurse
Womens health clinic
Your local GP
Social workers
These are usually goverment funded except GP if you have a a large income it will cost you.

Some families are in need in of food assistance and help with bills

There are churches that will help as they range from food, accomadation, help sort fiances
The goverment departmnets for family assistance they do have a range of things such as  social work looking for jobs ,helping  get some sort of money for your family
Also low cost food  stores

In a dosmetic situation there loads of help as there are women refuge

help with furniture if in that situation
You can see your local hospital if injured and they will help get thase these sorts of things

There are loads of help with PND
Such a Womens Groups
See your local GP

Useful Info
This should be given to all mothers (and fathers - I know a few single fathers where the mother has just walked) when they have their child - or even before - just to file away with everything else so they can search frantically for it the day they need it instead of wishing and dreaming of those places that might help, but not knowing which way to turn.

Great work mate.
Peace

Great Information.  As a exPND sufferer it would have been great to know all these things existed 10 years ago.
