Advice on bed wetting

Baby-Blossom by Baby-Blossom Walking(January 2007) (rank 500+)
My 6 year old daughter is STILL wetting the bed (about 1-2 times of week).  This is extremely frustrating, not knowing the reason why she still wets.  It is quite common for kids to still be wetting the bed occasionally until they are 10.  There are a number of
different reasons why this might be the case.  My daughter is an extremley heavy sleeper.  We got one of those bed alarms and she sleeps straight through it or just pulls the plug out whilst asleep and sleeps right through in a wet bed!!  Some advice I can give to all those parents out there that are sick to death of changing smelly, wet sheets but don't wont to put nappies on your kids is, I have found, is to use the plastic table cloth covers.  The ones with the felt backs.  You use the felt side up and then just put a towel down over this for extra softness and if they wet the bed you can just take this off and the fitted sheet etc is dry!! Yay! It works a treat.

Re: Advice on bed wetting
We have worked with and cured thousands of children and infused their parents with hope at the Enuresis Treatment Center in Farmington, MI. Besides being a deep sleep disorder, research shows that bedwetting is also genetic. If both parents have a history of bedwetting there is a 77% chance the child will also wet the bed. The average length of treatment is 6 months, and we are certain we can correct the sleep disorder and end bedwetting. Go to www.freebedwettingguide.com for more info.

My son went through the same problem. The reason he wet was due to his sleeping so soundly. I did a ton of research and there is no medical cure. Please know, they grow out of it. Sleeping patterns change. Stick with what you are doing and try no drinks an hour before bedtime. I used to wake my son at 3 am just to make him use the bathroom.

Covered mattress.
We have a mattress for E that has one side covered in a soft plastic on one side to see people through those wet nights.  As far as I am concerned it is a dream come true.  At least when I change the sheets they can go straight in the machine and there is no lingering smell in the mattress itself.
Peace
