Getting toddlers to eat there veggies and have fun to.

franni by franni Crawling(January 2007) (rank 342nd)
HI ive been having trouble with my daughter eating her veggies, she normally is up to eat anythink but this.
so i searched around and found a few ideas that worked for me.
hopefully they help you out as well.

Veggie soup.
i made this quite
alot and recently ive been adding little alphabet noodles or any type of shape noodle i can find.
when i feed it to her she seemed to like it and i thought bonous.
she loved looking at the different shaped animals and numbers and letters.

raw veggies.
you could try carrots, celery, red and yellow peppers, cucumber, ect .
she loved chewing on the carrots and celery especially when i got some cheese dip for her.
i also make toasted bread fingers to add to the dip to. she loves that for lunch.

funny faces:
i havent done this yet but you could make art work out of  there vegies,
offer them raw veggie in different colours and shapes and get her to make veggie faces.
she might want to eat it afterward. i can wait to try this with my daughter, if it works for you let me know.

Pizza:
You could get the kiddies to make some vegtable pizza. add anythink they want to it.
they will try eating it. i did this with my nephew he loved it.

Get Involved:
you could get them involved around dinner time, get him to wash the veggies, or even cut the veggies if there older.
if you have a veggie garden get your little one to come out and water them everyday with you and pick them when there ready, explaine to them that we are going to eat these veggies once they are grown.

hide veggies in other food:
if all else fails, try mixing the carrot with the mashed potatoes or anythink you can think of.
my mum used to mash our brousil sprouts, i used to love them like that, mixed in mashed potatoes.
i hope you like my advice.

getting children to eat veggies....
thankyou for the advise, and i will try this with my 3 year old, as she bluntly refuses to eat veggies, and i have tried some  of the things you mentioned... I was also thinking about starting a star chart with her next, as i really think it is important for her to eat healthy...

veggies

I've had no trouble in getting my nearly 4 year old to eat veggies, but have been told by other parent's who've had trouble in this area is to hide it into food etc or mash it in to the potatoes.
