Take your baby book to Specialist Appointments - sp

mace-oz by mace-oz Speaking(January 2007) (rank 188th)

When taking your child to a specialist appointment take your baby book with you. This is the book you wrote his or her milestones in.

While working in a Speech Pathologist (SP) clinic I became aware of the need for this book especially in this field. If you child had the appointment because you are concerned about a milestone (eg He is not saying as much as he should) then take a record of other milestones.

The initial questionares can be very in depth and puzzling. These questions are not just about their speech (in the case of sp's).

Paediatrician's, Occupational Therapists, Gp's, Speech Pathologists are some I can think of. Please feel free to add more.

Iesha has been slow off the mark with her speech and we were talking about taking her to a speech pathologist. Thanks for the heads up.
