Quick baby tips to save a bit of time/money

bleshu by bleshu Talking Back(January 2007) (rank 83rd)

I know we are supposed to write quite substantial articles but I have a couple of quick tips that I do in my own home that I thought might be useful to others so here goes

  • I keep a bucket in the laundry with a little bit of
soap powder and I put baby's clothes/bibs in it when he's finished using them.  With him starting solids lately and the fact that he has reflux, his bibs especially, are smothered in puke and food (pumpkin stains terribly).  Soaking all the gear before washing it means my sons clothes always look brand new, even the pumpkin bibs.  When the bucket is full and I cant jam anything more in there I put it through the washing machine.  Just be careful of dark or red clothes, soaking my lead to them running.

  • I dont hang his little clothes out on the line.  I have an indoor clothes airing rack.  As you all know, babies go through a lot of clothing and you tend to wash every other day, hanging little tiny clothes out on the line, bending up an down, up and down can be very time consuming and they get faded and stiff in the sun.  I set my little airing rack up in a conspicuous place and his gear is usually dry by the end of the day.  Takes much less time than going to the line.

  • I bought my 6month old a bath ring which he is a little too small for and, because he had one of those lay down seats, he tends to try to lay down in it instead of sitting up.  He was slipping forward squishing his bits on the little dude bar.  I bought a packet of those non-slip bath stickers and stuck them to the bottom and now he doesnt slip forward smashing up his "essentials".

There you go, there's my 2cents worth, hope it can save you guys some time and money.

TOP TIPS
I wish people wouldn't get daunted on writing "substantial" articles, yours is just fine actually it is far better than fine.I feel as do many others that each and every one of the members of minti have important valuable and relevant information to share with each other.None of us have the right to be critical or judgmental of each others advice.I think the only problem with an article is if it is harmful or misleading......and if so then it gets reported. So please don't think you have to be some kind of Educational Boffin. We can gain the most important information sometimes on just a few words. So please keep up the great work,Minti needs every-ones input. Hugs Merle

Re: TOP TIPS

I agree, I put an article out that was opinionated when I first joined Minti and I was told by a very nice minti pal to put it in my blog so I did.

The articles are for advice not opinions.

On another note,  had reflux also when i was pregnant with both boys. I could not get upset or food would come back up and after each meal I had to sit quietly and still for about 10-15 minutes or it would come back up
