Creating Memory Books make Great Gifts!

Saraloo by Saraloo Talking Back(June 2006) (rank 53rd)

I stumbled across a website not too long ago just after getting a new digital camera.  Since I don't have a photo printer here at home I was looking for a company to order prints from.  While I was there I realized there is world of photo gifts from

mouse pads to calanders and mugs, but the one that grabbed my attention was a Memory Book.  I have done some scrapbooking in the past and found that as well as being time consuming, it was expensive and I had a hard time finding a conveinent location in my house to set up and leave my stuff out so I could get back to it periodically through out the day as needed.  The site I found, had Memory Books.  For $23.99 US you could pick a from 14 covers made of cloth or leather, and you got I think it was 15 pages, each page holds up to 6 pictures.  On top of that you can coose the font style add effects to your pictures and write about each picture just like you would in a scrapbook.  I decided since Mother's Day was coming and I was absolutely stumped on what to get my Mom, that now was the time to try one.  It was easy, you create an account which is free and then you upload your photos to the site where they keep them in albums that you can date and title for future use.  From there you click on the create a memory book link and they walk you through the whole process.  In an afternoon I had made a book and I t was shipped took 2 weeks to get to Canada ( right on the deadline they gave me when I placed my order).  what i got when it came back was AWSOME!!! The book was beautiful it was approxamitely 9"x 12"  in size and the fabric was just as it looked on the site.  The pages were colourful, and exactly what I had hoped for.  I gave it to my Mom on Mother's Day and she loved it.  Now when she has people over to visit the book is one of the first things she brings out, and she has taken it everywhere with her.  People love it and want to know where she got it and how much it cost.  I am sure I have sold at least a dozen of them for the company just by having people see them....

I thought it was a great idea, and I can vouch for the company that they do great work.  The smile on my Mom's face everytime she looks at her book is worth every penny I spent which coincidentally, is way less than my own scrapbooks, that I have poured endless hours into for the girls.  Not only are they beautiful the Memory book takes up less room, I have 75 photos in my Mother's, and for the price I think I will continue to make books for her every year with updated pictures of her Grandchilden.

I found a deal for a GREAT product and I thought it was well worth sharing with others who I think might be interested in a gift idea that is guaranteed not to disappoint.   The site I happened upon was Shutterfly.com, I am sure there are probably many others out there as well.  I have used this site for all my photo needs since and have never run across any problems.

Hope that this information may help someone out there find a gift worth giving at a great price... Gotta love a deal with bang for your buck!

Cheers

Personalized books too!
Some let you upload pictures and names and even story choices (which island do you think the treasure is on?)-- a great way to encourage reading!  You can have a "photo shoot" beforehand and take special pictures for the books.  The best one is aardvarkstories.com-- also kdnovelties.com and rwrinnovations.com.
I think they would ship to UK for a little extra $$ (or pounds!)

Memory Book.
I try to put together a life story book for my daughter but finding the time to sit down with glue and stuff is hard and of course if I try to do it when she is around then she wants to help (which leads to Glue everywhere) so this memory book is a great idea. I am now going to go on the site to see if it is available in the uk.

Memory Book.
Try one of the sites where you can upload your pictures and they put them into a book.  Mac.com does one, where you have to write the text but you can add as many pictures as you want.  Also aardvarkstories.com where you put your pictures into their stories.

I love shutterfly.com!

I absolutely love this site. I found this site when I signed up for upromise.com. So not only do I get great pictures and picture memontos, I save up for my son's college too! I've used this site to great picture calendars, cards, baby announcement, picture mugs and more for the grandparents.  I have a photo printer but I was not very happy with the pictures so I now use shutterfly for everything. The pictures are great and the site is easy to use. I also love sharing the photos online to family and friends, this way they can order photos they like themselves.

Re: I love shutterfly.com!
upromise.com is a site to save money for children's college by just doing regular shopping. I think it's just available in the U.S. though, but I'm not sure. It's a shame if upromise isn't in Canada. I get 7% of what I spend in Shutterfly put away for college savings. It's not much, but considering my son is only 15 months, I have a long way to go before he goes to college.
