do your kids draw on everything?

madmadmummy by madmadmummy Talking(February 2007) (rank 399th)
One word - washable markers. When Charley gets her hands on a pen, she wrties on everything. So I have taught her that she is only allowed to write with her washable markers, unless I say so.

So when I am silly or tired enough to leave one of
these lying around, she cuts sick with them and draws all over everything.

But at least then it washes out. :)

Ps: they are non-toxic, so all good. :)

Budding Artist
My budding artist has her moments, but she also knows that she must never draw on anything but paper.  She is also learning to differentiate successfully between paper she is allowed to draw on, her diary for instance, and that that must never be drawn on - story books for instance.  Sometimes it gets confusing when she sees me write her name in the front page, but i think that she is beginning to understand that now that she recognises her name more easily.

These days she even tries to remove the accidental marks elsewhere.  It is so lovely, and immediately diffuses my disappointment.
Peace

Invisible markers
I found i great product that must have been created by a mum. I bought iesha markers that only work on the 'magic' paper. They are made by crayola. They're great. Even if she does draw on something other than the paper it never shows up. Best product i've seen in a long time.

Blackboards
When we were little my parents had a wall painted with blackboard paint.  Mum says that it worked a treat!  It also comes in very handy now as a message board for when everyone is passing in the night .
