sorry franni but...

I wouldn't say she was advertising other sites.  She hasn't told us squat about them except that they exist and contain info on certain topics.  There is a difference between advertising and providing a community with information about alternate avenues on where to get information that is useful to that community.

For example, if someone comes to playgroup and are looking for a parent-child group that specializes in parental support at a certain level that our playgroup simply can't provide, we'd refer them to another nearby group that can give them that support.  If they want information on breastfeeding, we refer them to the breastfeeding assoc.  If they want info on local services we refer them to three different places depending on what they want.  That's the way to build a strong community.  If people can say "I found it on Minti", when asked "how did you find out that", then that in itself is enough to encourage people to come and have a look to see what other information is available here that might be useful to them - even if that info is a referal to another site.  Community networking is a very valuable resource, this is a community.  Networking is a real-life thing, not just an internet thing.

Just my opinion.

I like that.
Well researched, short, simple, comprehensive, categorized, and well laid out.  no need to read through pages of waffle to get to the point as the point is the selection of sites.  Good on ya.
