Illegal drugs and teens...Anabolic Steriod Abuse...

cookclan by cookclan Young Parent(February 2007) (rank 7th)
Anabolic Steriod abuse

Well this piece of advice is again about drugs and teens but also young adults as well... The quest for the ultimate body...It is a big thing among teenagers... Bulking up... I have listed to and seen my own son and nephew talk about who has
the biggest pecks and shaping up in front of the mirror...Some teens just work out and fairly hard to get into shape...some eat special diets or formulas from the health food shops as well... but unfortunately some resort to Anabolic Steriods...

Anabolic steriods can be subscribed from the doctor for men who do not produce enough testosterone on their own...There is legitimate uses for this drug but it is not prescribed to help bulk up young healthy men... It is a synthetic substance similar to the male hormone testosterone...Use of steriods without a prescription is illegal and a chargeable offence...

The steet names for this drug are just steriods, roids,or juice...

Steriods are used in a couple of  different ways they are taken in pill form or injected directly into the muscles.. People who take this and keep doing it are actually called abusers like in all heavy and habitual drug users of any drug...

Steriods can cause pimples and make your hair fall out men can grow breasts and women can grow facial hair...Steriods also can cause liver damage and make the heart clog up...Along with these it can send users into violent rampages... STERIODS DO DAMAGE physically and mentally...

Especially in teenage years it is very important for the hormone balance to be in tune... A good hormone ballance is needed for girls to develop feminine traits and for boys masculine traits.. Steriods abused at this stage of a teens life can cause gender mix ups and in such a difficult time of life this could be a recipe for disaster...Boys testicles shrink and their sperm count drops and girls become more masculine and lose their breasts... With side effects like this teenagers need to be aware of the dangers...

Anabolic steriods do work in bulking up and giving that great body but with all the side effects who would want to use them...Steriods shorten lives...

If your teen or young adult child has a change in their body shape or becomes obsessed with the gym with quick and drastic changes in their mood and their bodies... Talk to them... ask them if you have that sort of relationship but most of all educate our children today about these...

Once again these are my thoughts and there is some great links below so if you are interested please take a look... And just remember communication is the key in keeping in tune with our teens talk talk and talk some more...

Have a great day
Cheers
Angie

To be honest despite the work I have done in the past my knowledge is only ever been sketchy, so this is great.  Thankyou Angie for taking the time.
