ICE--In Case of an Emergency, Pack a Waterproof Pack

metrozing by metrozing Talking(February 2007) (rank 333rd)

Here is a Quick Tip for Getting Organised--In the event of a water disaster such as flood, hurricane, tropical storm or mudslide, an emergency pack is great to have ready for your family. Here are a few priorities to act on today – before an emergency hits.  Order a

waterproof container, such as AquaPac® , from www.waterproofcases.net  or buy one from a local dive shop.

·        Print the list below and place it inside the AquaPac® with the items listed below:

·        Drivers license, cash, and credit cards
·        Insurance documents (personal, home, car)
·        Mobile phone and charger
·        Will
·        Passport
·        Stock certificates
·        Investment information
·        Bank account numbers
·        Pictures of the contents of your home and office
·        Prescriptions
·        Phone numbers and addresses
·        Light sticks
·        Crank flashlight/radio
·        Extra large re-sealable plastic bags
·        Keys to your home(s), safe deposit box, office, car(s)

Remember, when packing the AquaPac®, be realistic about what you can carry and what is necessary.  In addition, remember to have a plan for your pets.  You’ll also need vacuum sealed envelopes of food and bottled water for your family.

So glad I live in UK
There are no major natural disasters likely to happen here.  So nice living in dull grey UK.  No seriously,no more worries about earthquakes, tsunami or volcanoes.  It is bliss....lol

Haveing said that the emergency services encourage everyone to carry an ICE number on their mobile phone.  (ICE = In Case of Emergency).  This is the number of your next of kin. Instead of taking a pot luck when scrolling through the names stored on the phone they can go straight to ICE and contact your most important person.  If there is more than one number them ICE1, ICE2, ICE3 etc.
Peace

Excellent add-on tip.  Thank you.

Maybe you can vacation on an island where natural disasters occur (just kidding!)

I was born next door to a dormant volcano, so all the drills were regular life skills for us.  It is kinda boring living in the grey here, but these small advantages are nice occasionally.  There has to be some advantage for living in this 'green and pleasant land'
Peace

Ok EF,

Now you have me wondering where oh where did you live?  How long have you been in your present location?
