1st Year Round Up - Top 5 Books

pfallerj by pfallerj Proud Parent(February 2007) (rank 96th)
Today's first time parenting tip - Read your baby's favorite stories to him every day.

When it comes to developing memory and learning to associate words with objects, there's no better tool than books. Every time you read them, the words and images are the same. If your baby
loves a certain book, he could read it at least 15 times. And that's a good thing, because he'll be committing all the words in the book to memory.

As part of the 1st year round-up, here are my son's 5 favorite books. They're all great stories and a lot of fun to read with your baby.

super list
I have to say that now I almost know Where the wild things are by heart which I love (both the book and the fact that I can nearly recite it word for word).
Both my twin boys will growl at the point where Max sails to where the wild things are.
And cheer at the end "..and it was still hot"

I don't know all the other books.
Have you seen Maurice Sendak's "The Night Kitchen" at present our boys think Mickey is Max, but hey!

Therem is apparently a 3rd Maurice Sendak book - has anyone seen it?

I do agree
There is this one book that my daughter LOVES to death.. She is always bringing me it so that I can read it to her. It's Dr. Suess's "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" and there is this one word that my daughter says back.. 'boom boom boom' and just before I get to that page, she says it LOL!! It's really cute!
