What is Family Home Evening?
This is what is encouraged by our Church to encourage one night (Monday night is designated as the start to the working week and also tends to be less busy) a week for the family to gather and spend time together.
It doesn't have to be related to Church or gospel topics either. Even making time to chat about what eveyone is doing can be be beneficial. Also an activity or game depending on the age of the children, can be fun.
My girl is now at an age where she asks to organise Family Home Evening. in our house we have family prayer, songs, story telling and games followed of course by a treat or supper.
This is probably the most structured fun we have in our house. We are very spontaneous people but sometimes life goes too fast and to slow down for an hour or less just to get to know our family can do wonders for our realtionships. I feel more grateful for my family when we manage time together with no distraction.
