Sleep during pregnancy

lillyanka by lillyanka Speaking(June 2006) (rank 447th)

I am now 6 1/2 months pregnant. At night I cant seem to sleep as well. its harder fer me to breath and i get pains everywhere. Ive must have literally 10 pillows on my bed all surrounding me, a feather bed, and a memory foam mattress, and even when i take them away i still get achs and pains through out the night. Ive tried elevating myself but that gives me more pains, and ive tried to lay flat but that just makes it harder for me to breath. People always say get as much sleep as you can now because when baby comes you wont have much. But i havent been gettin a whole lot of it lately cuz it just seems im possible!

Well, I'm guessing at 6 1/2 months pregnant your belly is too big for you to lie down comfortably facing up or down, so you might want to try to sleep on your left side: it improves the blood flow and helps nutrients get to your placenta, and you don't have the huge belly applying pressure to your inner organs, which will help you sleep way better.. Also, you might be more confortable if you put a pillow between your knees. I've heard these are amazing:

Snoogle Deluxe

Back 'N Belly Contoured Pillow

The Cuddle Pillow

There's some women who can't sleep horizontally at all on their last month of pregnancy; my best friend used to sleep sitting on a glider. So if that's ever your case, you could use one of these:

Lumbar Cushion
