Ketamine
This is the next article about another drug in the illegal drugs and teens series I have written...Ketamine was originally used as an anaesthetic but now it is used as an animal tranquilizer by vets...This drug is still used for humans mainly small children or people with poor
health but mainly in the vetinary industry...It is not essentially illegal when used in the right situation but when it is used or provided for a high it then becomes an illegal drug...
The street names for this drug are Special K, K, Vitamin K and Ket
Ketamine comes in the form of a powder and liquid but can also be traced in some Ecstasy tablets sometimes...with ketamine small doses of this drug causes a dreamy like atmosphere...Probably quiet a nice feeling of relaxation...
Some of the high dose effects are, but not limited to amnesia, impaired motor functions, depression, raised blood pressure, slowed down breathing, delirium and even fatal respitory problems, numbness of the extremities and a feeling of seeing the world differently It will make you feel floaty ...Like you are outside your body users have even described it as like an out of body experience where you can see themselves there but they cant move ...When a high dose is taken of Ketamine the user will slip into what is called by users a K hole...Some people find this pleasing but others who like to have control of themselves find it scary...The high dose effects is why this drug is also used as a
date rape drug...It leaves the person incapable of doing anything if they do remember the event but in most cases amnesia is an issue...
There is not alot of research done into the long term effects of this drug but frequent use can cause bouts of consciousness and lead to possible brain damage and physical difficulties...As with most drugs there is also the mental health issues of using this...The brain is a complex thing and putting some drug into it can also lead to some form of psycosis...
I have said all this before but I will say it again...Our kids need to know as much as they can about the drugs and what effects they can have on them...Knowledge is Power and if I can help just one parent to help their child not go down this road of self destruction then I have done what I set out to do with this series...
COMMUNICATION is the key to a happy and healthy relationship with your kids...TALK TALK TALK...At least if your children do decide to experiement with this drug or any other drug they will be doing so informed of all the dangers...
Have a great day
Cheers
