Finding the right child care for your child.

Anonymous Author (March 2007)
How to choose a Child Care Centre right for your child.
Why it matters.

Don''t settle for less when choosing a carer for your child.. Note these points for what your child needs.

1.To feel safe in a child friendly environment.
2.To feel emotionally secure
3.To
have a caring relationship with their carer
4.To feel happy and nurtured
5.To be provided with good nutrition.
6.That the carers provide a similar care to the way you care for them at home.
7.And last of all have their individual care needs, routines, and cultural diffrences met.

What to look for in a carer.

Someone who.

Relates well with children.
Is a calm and emotionally mature person and who knows what to do in a crisis
Has a update first aid certificate
Has good references
Provides a safe child friendly clean environment
Some one who understands and knows the needs of your babies and children
And most importantly someone is able to provide a positive relationship with your family.

How to find the right person or child care centre

. Word of mouth
.Close friends/family memebers
.Use an agency rather then place an advertisement- especially for in home care
.Always insist on Reference checks- also important if you require care in your home.

Always remember that you are the only one that knows your child weel, and if in doubt about the care you are recieving for your child isnt right, speak to the person, or their manager.

Great advice. You must look around for this sort of thing. I like being a stay at home mummy.

Re: Finding the right child care for your child.
great advice.

some parent just put their kids in the closes one. i was a sucker to this and Alex ended up getting bullyed there. but the one that charlie is in now is a good 5+ mins drive but i know it is good. also if your child seems reluctant to go a lot of the time i now would find out why.

thanks Cazza

Re: Finding the right child care for your child.
absolutely agree there about child being reluctant and check the signs for sure..

My chloe went to a well paid child care centre, and the some of the workers bed side manner was appaling, and there was weeks there where i was always signing incident reports where chloe was getting biting,.........

Now she attends a pulblic educational creche- which the mainland calls it pre school, and we havnt looked back.......The workers are very supportive and the kids are great and if chloe had her way she be there every day, instead of one day a week.......
