Dont Talk Down To a Child

Bambie30 by Bambie30 Speaking(March 2007) (rank 225th)
I am a very proud mother of 7 beautiful children so u can just imagine the problems U can have with 7 different personalities in the house. But until they r the same height as me I have learnt that when trying to discipline a child or to try and understand what their problems are, that like adults they dont really take that much notice when being spoken down to. I get down on my knees and sometimes lie on the floor so that i am at their level. I myself hated authority and didnt listen to anyone. I have noticed that my children walk away with a smile more often when I am at their level as to understand what they are trying to deal with. Let me tell u i am a 6 foot woman that finds it very hard to walk away after lowering myself to their height anyways. LOL. They are more open i have learnt when u meet them at their level. Any other great suggestions on understanding where children are coming from are greatly appreciated I am not perfect but I try as hard as I can to let my children know that I am there for them any which way they need me to be.

Getting down to their level

I've been doing this with miss4 now for about 9 months now, and it does work, because then they don't feel so insecure. I have found miss4 has calmed down alot since doing things at her level.
