yeah i agree. it's sad that there are people out there who are ignorant enough to upload such stuff.

i am pretty sure youtube has a policy about pornographic and other degrading videos, where they will get deleted after they have been reported.

if many of these things do get through, even if they last a day maybe youtube would have to resort to viewing videos before they are added, but then with the thousands uploaded every hour that would be a tough job.

My 8yo has looked at a few things on Youtube but never on his own. He likes looking at Star Wars / Star Trek movie shorts and Leggo Starwars shorts. I am trying the new MS Luive Parental filter on our family PC and it seams to filter most things ptretty well (early days but good so far).

I have not tried to deliberately find a naughty site yet (just in case it does not work and I ger distracted .

The good thing about this filter is that each child has tyo sign in to their own account which you can configure to limit what they can do.

Great article. I myself have never been interested in having a look at you tube. But my partner does - he watches the ultimate fighting championship fights on there. I know that when searching for these fights, he has been linked to girls mud and jelly wrestling, also to street fights, men and women in punch ups, all sorts.

I hate to think what my son will be seeing when he is old enough to get onto the internet

youtube caught my eye i just had to read the article. my children are adults but i find this advice is excellent. there are so many young children out there that accidently stumble across things and youtube is easy to do that.

you unintententionally are watching something and it comes up with other things that are "related" and before you know it you habve snowballed into different tangents

My brother has got some awesome things on youtube, and I've had a look around too and have found things that have been shocking and not even legal.  I was surprised to learn though that not so long ago they had banned any breastfeeding videos on there as it upsets people.  That ban has been lifted but only after a petition and that ABA pushing for it to ban any sexual acts, course language, and adult themes or bring in the breastfeeding ones. It's amazing what people take offense to isn't it?

you know i really think that the site should have admin to go through things like that as its shocking to see even by mistake and its just teaching lots of people to actually do something soo horrible and and film it upload it there just soo they can like heros  to their friends

I think it is a shame that a heap of sick twisted disgusting freaks can ruin what could potentially be a great site.
