SOOTHING YOUR CRYING BABY

libbylincoln by libbylincoln Talking Back(April 2007) (rank 37th)

so we all know that babys cry because thats the way they know to communicate with you for what they want well here is a few tips :

HUNGER is one of the reasons ,the crying begins with a wimper then it becomes louder which means your babys is

hungry.even if you have just feed him he may have not hd enought and is now demanding more.the first week or two you may find yourself feeding him up to 10 times a day.but if your concerned talk to your doctor.

PAIN this cry begins with a yell or a shirek its is then folowed by  a second or so of silence  as your babys takes a breath then becomes worst, check to see what could be causeing the disconfert but if the crying continues go to a doctor.

DIRTY NAPPIE some babys or most babies hate wet and dirty nappies  and will let you know straight away.

TO COLD OR TO HOT  babies liek to feel confy so if your changing its nappie or clothing and it starts to cry its more likely because you just took him out of their warm zone .

CONFORT your baby may just want your attention, walk him around in the stroller ,or close to your chest, sing to him,or just maek some noise to calm him down, one way is to rock him gently.never SHAKE .

when rocking a baby always hold them close to you where he can hear your heart beat.sometimes the sound of a cr or washing machine or the vacum cleaner even .

TRAMATIC BIRTH  maybe the delivery was fast,or maybe to slow, the umbilical might have been around its neck,or maybe forceps were used this can cause temporary distress but this should go within a week.

OVER STIMULATED  babies love atention but sometimes thats not always good ,if your baby is over stimulated put them in a seperate room where its quiet and let them settle .you can also give your baby  a massage it can also help.

TIRED babies dont always go to sleep when they are tired and become whingy until put down,so put them in their cot or bassinet or pat them to sleep.

TEETHING teething can cause babies some pain  if your babie is around 6 mths of age and showing teething problems use some teething gel it always helps  but if your baby may cry for long periods of time then maybe go see your doctor.

COLIC some babies like my oldest now 11 have colic which is air trapped ,which can cause pain my son used to cry non stop and once he would stop and fell asleep he would start again within a few minuts leaving me exchanted .their cry is much like they are in extreme pain. and their stomach seems hard ,when feeding your babies maek sure they are bured but if it takes a long time and they are not good burpers then try a littel bit of colic care but not on newborns try other things listed here for the first couple of mths before doing so .but if it continues and your worried see your doctor .

IF IT ALL FAILS  so you have tried to wal them around ,you ahve tried teething gels ,and singing and everything else possible and your babies still cries non stop, first wakj out of then room for 5 mints then get to a doctor its important your babie gets seen to,but dont ever exclude yourself .

GOOD LUCK
