What Happens When Your Pregnant With Cervix Cancer - Part 4

bubba76 by bubba76 Talking(April 2007) (rank 96th)

l was asked once by a family member what l would have done if they discovered the cervix cancer l had, while l was pregnant with my third child. l dont know really what l w0uld have done back then. Thinking about it now, l would have dealt with it and gor it removed after the baby was born.

There is not much the dysplasia clinic could do if you are pregnant while you have abnormal cells. They can do a colposcopy examination and it would not effect the pregnancy in any way. If the dysplasia is still there after the baby is born , then treatment can be performed.

If you fall pregnant after the abnormal cells have formed and you are waiting for the treatment to be done. Then you will have to contact the Dysplasia clinic to let them know and treatment will then not be done until the pregnancy is over and the abnormal cells are still there.

Treatment of dysplasia by laser, cone biopsy and any other types of treatment will NOT be done while you are pregnant.
