ive roadtested a few animals and i thought id share one with you.
rabbits:
- rabbits are cheap as to look after, their are loads of different breeds that you can choose from. my fav type is the dwarf lop ear, they are fairly lil so
dont take up much room and very resilient most loved to be handled once they are used to it and will respond to care.
- rabbits need their hutch to be moved a few times a day for fresh grass, and should also be fed pellets occassionally and veg scraps r great to feed them too.
- rabbits need to eats carrots fairly often to keep their teeth short or you will have to have them trimmed at the vets.
- the hutch needs to have an enclosed area for the rabbit to sleep and an area for them to run around.
- i have a proofed yard so i let my rabbit out a few times a week to have a run as they need excercise, u can also harness them and tether them to a run if they can escape your yard.
- nails on feet need to be trimmed occassionally its pretty easy to do yourself but u may need someone to hold the rabbit for you, if u feel uncertain about doing it yourself take the rabbit to a groomer.
- some rabbits need brushing on a regular basis, some dont, choose the rabbit by wheather u have the time to groom same as u would a dog or cat.
benifits of a bunny:
rabbits get the the thumbs up from me as they are great with kids(so long as their nails are short), they are really cute and fluffy and can fill your childs day with hours of entertainment, they are easy to care for and are great for kids of most ages and they are cheap and can live indoors or out depending on what u would like.rabbits can be kept in pairs or on their own depending on how much time u want to spend with them.
with pairs keep 2 females togther, a mixed pair will breed like mad and the babies will need to be separated fron the male and will require care and 2 males kept together will often fight which means vet bills if it gets too heated.
another alternative is to put a guinea pig in with the rabbit they get along really well and require very similar care.
