Desanding your kids after a trip to the beach.....

sluxton by sluxton Talking(May 2007) (rank 120th)

always pack a small bottle of talcum powder...

Just shake it on and the sand will fall off so much easier than it will with water.

So quick, no towels needed.

Re: dont forget the liquid hand sanitiser for the park...
and dont forget the liquid hand sanitiser for the park before they eat - get rid of those germs!  Park toilets often dont have soap (or nice toilet seats - so make sure you take the disposable toilet seat covers or teach your daughter to cover it with toilet paper first before sitting on it), just more stuff to add to the handbag or nappy bag!  No wonder Mums like us always have big hand bags!

wow...

I never would have thought of that....thanks!!

I dread the beach because of sand getting everywhere and water just doesn't do it, especially cold water as they won't stand under it for too long.

This is Excellent advice, I'll definately pass this on!!

Desanding the kids
That sounds like a good and easy way of doing the job. I normally just hose off the sand on the feet and put them in the bath, and wash all the sand out of the bath.
