The Billings Method
Ok after reading about other styles of getting and not getting pregnant (for some) I thought I’d write this as it helped my In Laws but I was unable to try it out as I stoped the pill ready to try for our kids and
fell that month with both my babies.
Ok The Billings Method is suppose to be a fail safe way to get pregnant and to know when ovulation is all by looking at the mucus that is discharged from the vagina everyday. You can keep a record for your benefit but you don’t have to. (except the first 2 months due to learning)
The mucus is a vital part to the getting pregnant part as it is needed for the sperm to ascend to the egg and fertilise. This is present for a few days before and after ovulation has taken place. Now depending on the consistency of this mucus depends where you are in your cycle. If memory is right (don’t quote me) but if the mucus is stringy you are “ripe%u201D and if it clumps your ok to have sex.
If wanting to conceive you wait til the cervix is “ripe%u201D and the have sex for those 4-5 days and then wait for your period date for a yes or no. If you do not want to fall then you have sex the first week after your period, still daily checking and then wait for the middle after the “ripe%u201D time and then you are safe again.
With this method you get to learn a lot about your body and you can get your partner involved if that doesn’t make you feel too uncomfortable. My hubby and I did and it does help a lot with the closeness and the whole baby coming thing to.
Now for more info as by copyright I cannot write much more you can go to the pages I have found for you guys or go to your local bookstore or library and get the book The Billings Method By Dr John Billings or you can look up for your local teacher as they do have courses as I did find it difficult to understand the whole mucus concept. ( but I am a bit ditsy)
