How to minimize swelling in your feet while pregnant

Marlena by Marlena Young Parent(May 2007) (rank 12th)
If you are finding that your feet are swelling there some things that work for me and it may work for you.  When you are on the couch put your feet up and stretching my legs.  I have a little stool under my desk and I put my feet up
on it when I am on my computer.  This helps my feet, my back and my belly feel comfortable.  I need to get up and walk around threw out my day but I cant walk to much.  I try not to wear socks (hot weather right now) because then they get hot.  Drink lots of water, this helps with lots of stuff and if you are always swollen then you should really tell your doctor because it could be a blood clot.

Re: How to minimize swelling in your feet while pregnant
i got swollen feet in the last 3 pregnancies towards the end and i found wearing socks and good runners really helpful even though it was in summer,my feet and ankles didn't swell up and i was more comfortable especially since i was having to run after my other kids with school, etc.

I had this with all three of mine, and still get it now when the blood pressure goes up. If you are on your feet a lot, make sure that you are always moving your toes, as this helps with circulation and can help to reduce the swelling. Leisa

Re: How to minimize swelling

This is one sign/symptom of pre eclampsia, the other 2 are protein in the urine and high blood pressure. All of them to be taken seriously. It is also quite common to have this in your 1st pregnancy and be fine in subsequent pregnancies(same father).
