Have A Read Of The Cool Features Of Minti

I have been here since December and I am still today finding out new cool features and things you can do here. Im going to put a few down to make it easier for you newbies out there still TRYING to find you way around...

YOUR HOMEPAGE
Its the one place thats yours. There is lots of things you can do there. To get there click on either your name or the homepage like on the top of the page (you must be logged in to do this). Here are some features of your homepage...
To get to any of your homepage features click on the ORANGE bar on the top or side of your page

• Blog - Where you can share things with other mintiers. You can write about anything here. Thoughts, feelings, share photos, anything you can think of. There are pretty much no limitations here.
• Lounge - This is a place only your friends can see. Friends will drop by your page and leave you a comment in your lounge and you can do the same. Only people on your friends list can see this and same goes for you.
• Advice - This link shows you all the advice you have written, when it was publoshed, the average score, how many views, votes and comments have been left.
• Photos - If you click here it will take you to all the pics you have uploaded. You can see the score of them (one thumbs up or 2) and see the comments people made about your photos.
• Awards - This shows all the awards you have recieved (for advice, votes etc) and what is coming up.
• Stats - This shows your statistics within the minti site. How many advice articles you have written, comments made, votes recieved, and cool things like this. Just shows you how much you have contributed to minti.
  
• Groups - Shows you a list of all the groups you are in.
  
• Activity - Shows everything you have done on the site in regards to comments and advice.
  
• Mailbox - Takes you to your inbox where you will send and recieve minti mail from other members. Things from group invites and friend requests to chit chat between friends and people asking you for advice.
• Watchlist - Shows you all the rececnt activity on the advice and comments and blogs and lounges you have visited and participated in. A life line for some in keeping up with whats happening around the place.

Other Minti Features
To get to these click on the tabs on the GREEN bar on the top of the page.

Q&A - This is where you can ask other people on Minti anything from parenting questions to advice on things happening in your life. It's pretty relaxed here and as long as its not spam or self promotion you can ask most things here. You can also add your opinion or thoughts to questions here by clicking on the 'Add a comment to this discussion' link. You can write an advice article on the question by clicking on the 'Publish an article on this topic' tab.

Write Advice - Here you can write advice on anything you like to do with parenting. From illnesses to toilet training the topics you could write about are endless. There is a general guideline for writing advice and it should be no less than 50 words has to be advice about something. No self promoting can be done here (this must be in your blog). The best advice is usually written from the heart. If you would like to check out some really good advice that has been written check out Cookclans advice list.

Read Advice - Here you can read the thousands of advice that has been written. There are a few ways to do this. By most popular, most recent, the ones needing votes, and the ones that have been most visited. You can search for advice here too by clicking on either a catagory at the top or typing a few words (toilet training, sleeping habits, starting solids) in the FIND ADVICE box.

Groups - Clicking here will take you to a list of groups. A group is a area that you can post for specific topics. Here is a list of some popular ones to give you an idea.

3. Ask Mony group to whinge about anything thats bothering you
4. Foto Friday group where people post photos that they would like to share on a Friday
5. Help Forum for questions you have about using minti

Photos - By going here you can search for photos and browse photos put up by other members. You can also rate them with 1 thumbs up or 2 thumbs up and leave a comment on the bottom.

Activity - By clicking here you will see all the latest activity that is happening around minti. Whos commenting what, see whats being written, what photos are being uploaded and what advice is being rated.

Members - By going here you can see who else is in the minti commuinity. You can browse by rank, country, date joined and more. You can search for a certain member too.

Minti Homepage
This is the first page you get to when you go to www.minti.com.

Here you can find advice with the Find Advice box, Write advice. You can see the last few Q&A written and the most popular advice.

There is the latest advice written a little further down and a summary of the latest activity on the site.

There are some members, new, old and highest ranked so feel free to click on a persons picture and check out there homepage.

If you scroll to the bottom you will see a picture of one of the minti site owners and a website tip. Be sure to check these out as they will help you find your way around.

UPLOADING PICTURES AND ADDING THEM TO YOUR COMMENTS

A lot of people have trouble understanding the instructions so to the side I have included a picture I made which explains with with images.

1. Click on the button of a mountain with a sun in your comment box.

2. Click on browse server.

3. If the picture you want is already uploaded click on it and go to the last step. If its not click on Browse.

4. This will take you to another box which shows the files on your computer. Select the picture you want to use. Click on upload.

5. Then select it from the list. When you click on it another box will pop up (the same one you saw before).

6. A picture works better on Minti if its 500 width or less so change the width number accordingly. The height will adjust itself.

7. Then click OK and you have now added a picture to your comment! WELL DONE!
