Holidaying in…Adelaide? What to do in my town |
|
|
Here goes my part in this series. I live in the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide so will try to stick to things close to me so that someone else can do their own areas of Adelaide.
There are plenty of interesting things to do in Adelaide like go to
the beach, the markets and day trips into the Adelaide hills. I live close to Elizabeth (where Jimmy Barnes and David Campbell both grew up!!!). The Holden factory is in Elizabeth and you can do tours of it. Here is a list of a few attractions near me.
The winery district of the Barossa Valley is roughly 1hr north of my area and produces some of the best wines in the world. Of course you can have tastings at the cellar doors of most of these wineries and companies runs tours through here.
For the rev heads there is The Adelaide International Raceway where you can drive a V8 race car!!!! Would love to do this but it does cost a bit. Comes with a photo, video and certificate to prove that you drove a V8 race car.
St. Kilda Adventure Playground and Tram Museum is not far away and is great fun for all ages.
Hope this is useful to someone...I'm off to read of some other places...
Sandy.
