Holidaying in Sydney ? What to do in my town part3 Fox studio

Deborahsc2203 by Deborahsc2203 Talking Back(June 2007) (rank 111th)

Fox Studios

It's another great place to go with the family or just with a few friends .

Where is it located ?

Fox Studios is located in Moore Park 10mins from downtown Sydney, the international airport and Sydney's famous Bondi Beach

What

to do while you are there and a little about the studio itself .

Fox Studios has played a pivotal role in the production of the major films such as Moulin Rouge, Mission Impossible 2, The Matrix and Superman Returns , Starwars Ep2 Star wars Ep3 ,Dark City,Babe pig in the city ,farscape series 1,The Quiet American,The Matrix Sequels, Stelth ,Son of the Mask Kangaroo Jack . Sets can be viewed on the popular Backlot tour where visitors get the opportunity to observe real life film production.Thats alot of fun.

it's also jam packed with shops, restaurants, bars, clubs and cinemas.
Fox Studios is a heaven for the youngsters – with playgrounds, fountains, grassy areas and wonky mirrors

You can also go watch the latest blockbuter movies as well as foreign and independent releases.

On Wednesday's they have a market there  is fresh fruit and vegetables, pasta, bread and all sorts of great  knick-knacks.
also on wednesdays they have cute little babys animals .. pigs, chickens, ducks, goats, sheep and cows. another great hit with the kiddies you can also give them a cuddle ,,

Dont worry if you cant get there during the week they also have a weekend market.

The Weekend Market
Features traders from all over Sydney, offering an diverse array of merchandise including , antiques, movie memorabilia, homewares, accessories, cosmetics and jewellery. Everything interesting from tarot card readings, fortune telling, relaxing massage to just relaxing  in an outdoor cafe and chatting while you are having a great cup of coffee .

Saturday: 10am - 4pm

Sunday: 10am - 5pm

they also have a great sports bar huge hit with the men and sports lovers to come have a few drinks and watch the big screen.

the first week of  December you can bop arround the ice skating rink .

If you are a lover of stand up comedy like i am then you will also love the Comedy stall

when ?

What time does it all happen?

Shows begin nightly at 8:30pm and run for roughly 2 hours with a short intermission at half way to grab a drink and stretch your legs . Seating begins at 8:15pm to allow time for the show to commence on schedule. those that pre-book tickets, that they need to be collected at the box office before 8pm. keep in mine the comedy shop is not a thetre resturant  just just offer nuts and chips but there are many restaurant's arround there .

Days from tuesday to saturday

ive added this link here so you can also find out how to get there and book your seats

Awesome Deb, I haven't been there for ages... Once this rain stops, we can take Jaydee down to see the wonky mirrors etc LOL.  I have been meaning to check out the comedy club for ages, I must see if I can wrangle a sitter for a couple of hours to duck in.

Great article Deb

My mum and brother went to Fox Studios! The special make-up dept did his arm up as if it had been cut, it looked so real. They said it was a amazing place, wish I could have gone too!
