I grew up in Coffs Harbour and although I live in Sydney, I call Coffs home!
There is so much to say about Coffs......The sun, the sand, the shops, the people...it's something you just have to experience. Coffs Harbour is 7 hours drive North of Sydney and 20
mins drive south of Janice's Woolgoolga. We have a lot to offer tourists and so much more for locals....as we know all the hidden spots we like to keep to ourselves.
In the Summer season you can go parasailing off the Jetty, which I haven't done but I am told it's amazing! They also have a carnival during the Summer season with rides, food, games and shows. Walk along the Jetty, soak up some sun and do some swimming in the kid friendly beach 'The Jetty Foreshores' where there are no waves, due to the large break wall surrounding the beach. Eat the best fish and chips in town at the Fisherman's Co-Op.
There is so much to do and see!
- The Big Banana, where you can ride the monorail into the bananas and even go ice skating.
- The Pet Porpoise Pool, where you can get your photo taken with a seal and a dolphin. Watch a dolphin show. Have a picnic or a BBQ. They even include the audience in the show where you can throw balls to the dolphins and hold a hoop that they dive through.....it's a lot of fun!
- Visit the Coffs Harbour Zoo they have 400 different animals all native and you can feed the kangaroos and wallabies. Get your photo taken with a Koala.
- Learn to surf with Mojo Surf School
- Visit the Butterfly House Maze and Tea Gardens It's an Indoor Subtropical Rainforest with hundred's of butterflys and you can walk through and watch them. Afterwards you can sit down and have coffee/tea and cakes.
- Go Whale Watching with Jetty Dive Centre it's $35 for 2 1/2 hours, it runs from June to September.
- Climb Muttonbird Island, it's a short walk along the north breakwall and then you come to Muttonbird Island. It has a paved walkway and elevated Lookout Platform.
- There are so many other things to do like go Horse Riding, White Water Rafting, Go-Cart racing, visit the Botanical Gardens, Markets every Sunday at the Jetty.
Coffs Harbour is huge tourist destination. It's the perfect place to laze on one of the many family friendly beaches, sit in a cafe, or dine in an outdoor restaurant. It's the idealic beach life.......I loved growing up there, you really take the lifestyle for granted when you have lived there your whole life. Having lived in Sydney for the last 9 years I see it for what it truely is.........Paradise.....
Thanks for reading.
