co sleeper bed

winja by winja Talking Back(June 2007) (rank 57th)
hi there just thought i write a quick article on my fav lil invention for the year the co sleeper!
for me co sleeping will always happen with my children. there is advice for and against co sleeping everywhere and im not here to say do it or dont.
what all expects agree on is that IF co sleeping is done there must be precautions taken. my advice is on one of the precations that i am taking.

the co sleeper bed is made in a few different ways one is a bed that sits next to and connects to the parents own bed, with this u r close to bub but not close enough to cause it any damage if u roll or trash in your sleep, its great for parents with smaller beds or parents who want to be close enough to their baby to hear them breath and touch but dont want to sleep with them.

the second is the one im getting as i have a queen sized bed and no partner so plenty of room hehe.
its an insert that the baby sleeps in, most ppl put it between their pillows again it protects the baby from smothering and restless parents, it is raised a bit so it increases air flow to the baby decreasing their risk of getting smothered.
both co sleepers and loads of more designs can be found at target and im sure other baby stores.

anyway just thought id share with you guys my fav new thing for babies, hope it helps other parents!

Re: co sleeper bed
sounds great. I just got lazy, didn't intentionally co sleep, just couldn't be bothered getting back out of bed if bubs had fallen asleep after a feed. Especially on those cold winter nights. Leisa

Re: co sleeper bed
I thought about one of those with my baby as we were always going to co-sleep.  Even in the hospital I had her in my bed with me LOL.  Just for daytime sleeps except for one night.  I had my mattress on the floor and she was in a bassinet next to me then went straight into my bed when she outgrew the bassinet.  I didn't bother with the co-sleeper.  I think if I had another one it will be an investment I will make because I think they are also good when you're camping, or staying over somewhere, the baby can sleep in it anywhere not just in mum's bed.  THanks for sharing.
